Symbolic line display issue with family

Good Morning,

Slight Issue with a cupboard family i have made. The reference point is set at 0. The family is then offset 1400mm from the ground, I have attached a dashed symbolic line to show the overhead cupboards. the sheet is set at 1200 cut and top of 2300. the symbolic lines are not showing at this height. however when i change the cut to 1500 the lines then show. Ive made families like this in the past with no problems why is the symbolic not not referencing 0 and instead seems to be referencing the bottom of the cupboard at 1400

If you attach your family it will allow us to troubleshoot.  We can't tell much from the images.

Your family needs to have something below the cut plane.  You can fix it by placing an invisible line at ground level.  The image shows where I have placed a small symbolic line set to invisible.

Perfect, didn't even think of that.

Thanks Tim.

You shouldn't need to use the "Model Line Trick"  with Casework Families. They have "special" Properties built into them.  If the Casework is Above the View Cut Plane and within the Primary Range, its Symbolic Linework should be visible  -- as long as the Linework's "Show only if Instance is cut" is NOT checked.

the box is grayed out not giving me the option to turn on, however being turned off should mean it shows in view?
