Sweep not allowing me to draw second path on plane.

I've used sweep many times before, this has never been an issue but oddly after drawing my path on the initial birds eye Revit view it keeps informing me that plane is too sharp when I then try to draw the shape in an elevation view.

Stranger still, it allows me to draw at the impossibly sharp top down plan, which of course then does not work if I finish the sweep.sweep.PNG

Looks like it's "Current" workplane is skewed to the view.

I typically draw sweeps in 3D views using pick lines method.

cheers for the reply, I'm starting to think it is a Revit error, does not let me draw on the desired plane in 3D either, having issues again with another project. Might be time to reinstall it.

- If you create a sweep by sketching path then do it on a view parallel to the workplane of the path, or a 3d view, not a view parallel to the profile plane. This method can only create sweeps laying flat on a workplane, aka 2d sweeps.

If you already have some 3d geometry than you want to sweep along then don't use Sketch path, use Pick Path to pick the 3d edges. This method can create 3d sweeps.

Often times you don't have a 3d geometry to Pick, you can create temporary reference planes in various orientations and draw model lines on those planes to create a 3d path. Then use it to Pick Path.
