Suspended ceilings not rendering showing grid

Does anyone know why the ceiling grid doesn't appear in 3D views or renders?

Probably because it is a pattern and therefore not visible in renders.

Assign a material to the ceiling with a tiling pattern

...also, [for normal views] if the Surface Pattern is a Drafting Pattern, it could be related to View Scale.
