Sun Study Rendering

Is there any way to keep a background raster image visible on the rendering of a Sun Study animation?  It only works if I run Export Images instead of Export Sun Study, which is very time consuming and lacking timestamp on the output.  I have also tried to map a decal on a surface but the decal comes out from very dark to very bright depends on the time of day.  Realistic of course but is not suitable for presentation purposes.

Thanks.

Set the image as the background in the render setting dialog of the soloar study view.  Then when you export the solar study set the visual style to "rendering".  The background image will be rendered into the animation.  Each frame of the animation is probably going to take a long time since you are doing a full render for each frame, but the background image will show up.

Thanks.

But that's more for rendering backdrop.  Please see the screenshot for what I am after.

What you are showing would not be possible straight away in Revit. I was able to make this kind of image exporting the solar study from Revit with just the building and a white background, and then bringing it into Camtasia and then using tools there to drop out the white background and substitute an image behind. That technique might work if you have access to Camtasia.  (Actually I suppose other movie editing software has the "green screening" type effects tools.  I just happened to be working in Camtasia today so i tried it.)

I don't have Camtasia but I have been using Photoshop for replacing the background of the exported PNG frames. Just thought it would be nice to be able to do it directly within Revit.

Again, thanks for looking into this.

Sorry it is not easier. Camtasia made doing it a snap. it was a couple of extra steps but it would beat the heck out of frame by frame.
