Sudden Model Performance Degridation

Hi, I'm having trouble with a model slowing down drastically recently.

My team and I have been working on a large project with multiple linked rvt files with no apparent issues, however today one of the linked files has begun acting strangely.

It is quick to navigate, however selecting/modifying any element initiates a slow-down, locking the user out of the model for up to minutes at a time.

What makes this even more unusual is that the act of synchronisation itself has been reduced to a matter of seconds, as opposed to the minute or so it would usually be.

The file size has increased from ~50MB to ~130MB in the past few weeks, and we aren't sure why, or if this would have caused this slow down.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The file was audited and purged yesterday, to no avail.

Warnings have been reduced to 28 (those being old stair warnings that refuse to be rectified).

Could be associated to loaded Families as well.  Does project/families have many CAD elements in them.  This is an Achilles Heel.

0 imported/linked CAD files, we have had a similar issues caused by excessive dwg links so now endeavour to keep that to a minimum.
