Hi,
Without any changing in the location of the folders I noticed that some materials disappeared? see the attachment. Why did that happen? And how can I get the materials back?
Thanks
If you select one of the materials, do you find any errors within the materials settings?
Can you add a screenshot of the material settings?
Most likely theres a problem within the Appearance settings.
It is not really that the material disappeared. It usually means that one or all of the images used by that material can not be found.
Open one of the materials, with the warning sign, in the material browser. Go to the appearance tab and check the images. When you click on the image name it opens a folder where Revit is expecting the image, but is not there.
Maybe this gives you an idea what has happened. If needed you can point Revit to a different directory where the image can be found.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
Thanks for your response.
Here are more screenshots describe the problem.

How can I make the materials find the images in the folder? Do I have to do that one by one?
Revit doesn't load in the images for the materials, Revit links to a location on your pc/server.
The reason Revit can't find the image file, is because the file is no longer in the original folder.
Is this a model you built yourself or a colleague? If you got the model from someone else, he/she has the image files on their pc, thus your Revit can't find the image file.
Although it seems you're using standard Revit Materials. Have your libraries properly been installed?
It is best to get your material images organized in fixed locations.
In Revit you can add additional paths were Revit will look for Render images. This can be found under Options, Rendering.
This can be a quick solution if your images are not all over the place.
Of course, first of all, you need to have the images somewhere on your computer

This same thing happened to me when I upgraded to Revit 2018. I installed 2018 first then uninstalled 2017. It seems when I uninstalled 2017 some (most) of the texture files were uninstalled with it. I'm going to try to locate the files, possibly somewhere else on my computer or if that doesn't work I will try a repair installation of 2018. I'll let you know if it worked for me.

Good news... I reinstalled the Revit 2017 Materials Library with success. You will find the library installers in the following location on your hard drive:
C:Autodesk\Autodesk_Revit_2017_English_Win_64bit_dlm\Content\ADSKMaterials\2017\
Run the .msi files in each of the folders located in the above folder. this will reinstate your libraries to their original location and they will become accessible to your materials browser.
Hope this helps.

Wow thank you so much Jon!
I had the same issue, the problem suddenly appeared out of nowhere and I spent so much time trying to figure out how to fix it.
After reading your solutions, I followed your instructions and now everything back to normal! no more missing material images.
Most other solutions on the forum talked about "how to create additional links to the custom created materials", which is completely different from the OP's (and mine) situation, which is "standard Revit material images missing".
Thanks again!
