Structural Framing Material Pattern

Hi there,

I´m having trouble aligning the material pattern of my structural framing families (in red) Even though i can select the material pattern line in the structural framing, then it won't allow me to move it or align it to anything.

If i go inside the family, i can move the pattern but it won´t reflect on the project when loaded.

Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks

Align to what? To a wall with the same model surface pattern?  If so, why not align the wall pattern instead?

Actually, can you post the RVT?

Hi there! Thanks for replying. That is not what I need to do, I need to follow the wall pattern and align the structural framing to the wall with the same model pattern. This is only to show an example, but it´s not the only place I need to adjust the concrete beam pattern for it not to look funny.

hmmm, maybe you could sketch the division using parts where nescessary instead of using a model pattern... how is it made in detail? what are we looking at...

edit: no, better solution probably is to add a dimension with an instance parameter to the beam family to control the position of the model pattern (for each side...) What I also did was remove the associated material parameter so you would not be able to change it, so you have a 9seperate) beam family with material assigned as to not break the instance parameter in the family... added the dimension from beam end refplane to the model pattern line and associated the instance parameter. I think you can lock the other sides pattern to the dimensioned model pattern. Seems to work...

Just post the file then?  I don't want to go back and forth guessing.  That's silly.
