Structural Foundation - Material By Category

Possibly a bug, but I would like to check if I am doing everything correctly first.

Case involves custom made Isolated Foundation.

Material for solid in the family is set "By Category", category is set to "Structural Foundation". When setting material in Object Styles it has no effect on the element until any change is made to the element (for instance moving foundation up and down a little). After that correct material is assigned, but it is still unresponsive to changes in Object Styles (changing material requires to refresh all of the elements again as described  above). Placing new elements with the same setup results in correctly assigned material for new elements only.

version: Revit LT 2020.1

Indeed, it sounds like buggy behavior.   Do you want us to test to see if we can replicate the behavior?  Post the Family.

No like issues. Behaves properly here.  Uses material assigned to my Project's Structural Foundations Category under Object Styles.

Thank you for your reply. I have determined that described behavior happens only when the foundation is joined to floor...

Yes, joined elements share the same line weight and fill pattern.

Not really. Neither is the foundation material, nor cut pattern, nor line weight dependent or correlated in any way with floor materials, cut patterns or line weight.

Even if that would be the case why does it change after the foundation has been moved? Am I missing something?

Sorry, for the confusion.  The statement is true, but not applicable in your case.  You are talking about behavior IN THE PROJECT -- not in the Family.  Right?  Maybe your issue is a Revit LT issue.  I'm not using or have access to LT.  Maybe someone out with Revit LT can test your family.    Or, you can open a support case with Autodesk.  You should have a response back from them within a couple of days.

Yea, I did. Thank you for your help.

Even worst, after the material has been changed in Object Styles, but before instance of the foundation has been "refreshed" in "Material Take-off Schedule" material for foundation is counted twice (1 - material set in OS, 2 - material actually displayed on Foundation). Remarkable.
