Structural Columns not cutting in plan

Hi there,

I have created a canopy type structure on a rooftop of a building I am working on.

The main structural supports I have created as a structural column which is a combination of a column and beam (as can be seen in the 3D.

I am trying to create a plan where the beam part of the member is cut away and you can only see the column as is showing in the on Grid Line 1-L the reason this member is cutting is that it is a generic model. The member to the left which I also need to cut is not cutting as it is a structural column. Is there any way to get the structural column to cut in the plan without changing it to a generic model? I have unticked the 'Show family pre-cut in plan views' and it did not work.

Thanks!
