Hello -
I have created a family file that is comprised of several structural beam elements (structural framing and structural column members). When I load this file into my Revit project, the individual structural members of the family do not show up when I create a schedule (the schedule simply shows how many instances of the family I have used in the project but nothing more granular). I am looking to schedule out total counts, weights, etc of each structural member of the family. I have made sure that the family category is checked to "Shared" but this has not changed the results. Would really appreciate it if someone could assist me with this!
Thank you!!
Alex
you may need to create family parameters or shared parameters to report the values of each parameter.
the category for the parameter could be either instance or type.
confirm the category for the schedule is correct and if phasing is set.
also try changing the category of the family and where the parameters are being read from
Hello -
The family is set to "structural framing" and the "shared" parameter has been checked. Category of the schedule is correct because it lists number of times I use the family just not anything within the family. The phase of the schedule is also set correctly. Anything else I can try?
thanks,
shared Parameters associated to values you want to report in your schedule
family parameters need to show up in the schedule based on the category of the family so you may need to add fields to the schedule the pic below is an example of all fields related to Structural Framing
Are we talking Scheduling Link elements? Have you checked "Include Element in Links"?
Checking "Shared" in a Family does not make its Parameters Shared. Shared Parameters are those Parameters that come from a Shared Parameter Text File.
