Hi @taylor_wade8AFQY,
You’re not going crazy kkkk — you’re right, the stretch handles (blue grips) for instance parameters appear to be missing or inconsistent in some family types in Revit 2026.
Autodesk has modified the way instance-driven geometry and shape handles behave in 2026 to improve performance and parameter consistency, but this had the side effect of disabling shape handles in certain family categories — especially those using reference plane-driven constraints or formula-based parameters.
Here’s what you can check:
Ensure the parameter is truly an Instance Parameter — under Family Types, confirm it’s set to “Instance,” not “Type.”
Lock geometry to reference planes, not edges. Shape handles only appear when geometry is directly constrained to reference planes associated with an instance parameter.
Avoid nested constraints or formulas — Revit won’t display blue grips if the dimension is driven by a formula or indirectly linked parameter.
If you previously used Revit 2025 or earlier, test the same family there. If handles appear, it confirms the 2026 UI limitation.
💡 Workaround: You can still adjust the family graphically by creating a control element (like a reference line or point) linked to that dimension. That restores a visual handle-like control even when the grips are hidden.
It’s worth submitting this as feedback via Revit’s “Send Feedback” option — the product team is already collecting reports on UI regressions related to shape handles in 2026.
