Strange roof cutoff

Hey,
I created a roof and then added a cut-off level. The roof has different slopes on both sides. I'm getting strange form at the end. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi,

You can try to use Slope arrows and see if this works for you? But then you will see a litle difference at the base of the roof.

The only solution I can see is to draw the opening of the roof; without specifying a cutoff level:

The problem is that you have different Slopes and thus when cut with vertical or horizontal planes the section thicknes will be different ( the perpendicular on face is equal)

  1. When using CutOff Level - Cut  with offset - the alignment is made to the bottom of the roof Face
  2. When using a Vertical Opening the alignement is made on the top of the roof

  3. You can Cut the roof with a Void Model in Place Family to obtain a horizontal cut and then build on the top of the cut

You can model a flat roof and edit sub elements, or a roof by mass faces.

I forgot that I have to reinforce it later, so I'm going to model it as the floor. Thanks for the replies!
