Storefront Equality constraints not working

I'm working on a vo-tech education center with a grand storefront entry.  The main entry storefront is broken up symmetrically as such: sidelight | 42" single panel door | 4 panel sliding door | 42" single panel door | sidelight.  The entry vestibule is 27'-0" wide with 8 unequal divisions in the storefront; however, the 4 center panels are equally spaced.

To simplify my door schedule, instead of having two 2-panel sliding doors in the center, I am trying to create one 4-panel sliding door.  I created my family using the "Door - Curtain Wall.rft" template.  Constructing the panels inside this template works - I have four equal panels.

When I load the family into my project, I used the "Add/Remove Segments" to create one large single center glazed panel.  Then I selected that panel and replaced it with my 4 panel slider. Unfortunately, at this point the equality constraint is broken and my four panels are no longer equal.

I don't understand why this keeps failing.  What am I doing wrong?

Unlock all these padlocks and unpin the center ref plane.

Oh for the love!  As simple and overlooked a correction as that is, I feel stupid.  Thank you for your help; it is much appreciated!
