Hi everyone,
Stair related question here. Moving from AutoCAD to Revit and currently updating our stair families. A typical detail for our office is a concrete step as a first riser and then a timber stair with steel stringer which returns vertically to ground level (see attached image).
Is there any way to achieve this in Revit without modelling in place?
Thanks,
Phillipe
How do you model the vertical element, cant seem to get the beam to work in that direction
Draw a grid line to be the work plane to host the structural beams drawn on an elevation.
Draw the beams not vertical first.
Then drag the end to make it vertical.

Thanks for that. This then leads to a new issue, I can't get my rails to host to the stringer anymore.
Yeah it is a bummer.
How about keeping the stair stringer, but with a smaller profile so that it is buried inside the beams but still hosting the railing?
Or add a very thin roof by extrusion on top of the beam flange to host the railing.
