Standard "RVT" and "RFA" file type thumbnails for .rfa and .rvt files missing.

Windows 7 Premium.

I recently uninstalled 2 x older versions of Revit including the first version I installed on this PC. After that, I cleaned my registry and noticed the file type preview icon is just a blank white page. The file types were no longer associated with Revit. Not a major as they could still be opened from within Revit but not double-clicked to open. Was unable to restore my registry backup for some reason so I went to Default Programs to try to reassociate the file types for .rfa, .rvt, and .rte files to Revit and the file types were not there. Long story short...I've found a fix to reassociate the files but the new thumbnail for the file types previews is the 2017 Revit Icon. Does anyone know where the original "RVT," "RFA", and "RTE" file type icon are found? I've searched for all .ico files to no avail so I assume they might be a bitmap image or other file type but I have no idea what I'm looking for or what folder it would be in. Any help with be greatly appreciated by my OCD!

*note that I have my folders on "Details" view.

You cleaned your Registry how?  And why do you think this relates to Revit?  I'm not connecting the dots the way you are.

This is most likely a file association issue. Right click on a file and select the appropriate "open with" program.

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Sometimes less is more so I should have more general.

My only question is if anyone knows where the "file type preview icon" (for lack of a better term) with the letters "RVT" or "RFA" shown in my screenshot under "ORIGINAL PREVIEW..." is located in any of the Autodesk folders?

FYI: I clean my registry with CCleaner after uninstalling any software. It removes old/unneeded registry entries, but in this case, it has also unassociated the .rfa, .rvt., and .rte file types from Revit...hence my post and why it relates to Revit.

CCleaner??? That's unfortunate. Sorry to hear that.  CCleaner is a nightmare.

Thanks, Rob. I agree and am aware it is a file association issue. I've fixed that issue before my post. When I right-clicked and reassociated the .rfa, .rvt, and .rte file types with Revit they now have a new "preview icon."

All I am trying to do is to get the original file preview icon back as my OCD can't handle it. I've been looking at that icon for years and want it back. Simply looking for the location of the Autodesk stock-standard preview icon so I can manually change it back with some 3rd party software.

Thanks ennujozlagam but not the same issue. Appreciate the help, though. 👍
