Standard Labels in Revit

I'm having issues with some of the Revit standard labels that I'm trying to use in my Titleblock. I'm using the ones for Revision i.e. who detailed it, date of revision, and revision description. My problem is that they don't allow me to update them. From the research I've done it seems as though it's acting like a custom Label but I didn't customize this or change it in anyway and don't know family to load to make it work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting on the forum. Can you share the file to test further?

Using a parameter in a label for a title block family, allows you to add custom text to the title block on the sheet.

1. In a project, click Insert tabLoad from Library panel (Load Family).
2. Create a sheet using the title block.

   The new sheet view opens with the label you created in the title block family.

3. Select the label.
4. On the Properties palette, locate the parameter you defined for the family and enter a value for it.

Maybe I'm not understanding but it sounds like you think I created this Label and I didn't. I'm using a straight out of the box one from Revit

If you are using the out of the box revision tag, and out of the box schedule in your title block the tags will populate automatically based on the revisions in the project.  If you were to go to the Manage Tab>Additional Settings>Revisions you will see a table.  In that table you can add revisions, and then when you place clouds on the view/sheets the schedule in the title block will show them.  The clouds have a instance parameter that allows you to associate them with the revision on your choice. There are two options for revisions, "By sheet"(only shows revisions that are on the sheet) or "By Project" it should list all revision in the title blocks.  Here is a help article on how they are designed to work.

If you want more freedom to type whatever you want into the title block revision schedule and have it show up when you want then you would need to make your own tags.  You could make a simple label in the title block family and just copy it into every line of the schedule.  Then in the project you type whatever you wanted.  Make sure the parameters of the labels are instance based and unique line by line.

So it did work like you described but then when I tested out having multiple revisions its only reading the latest revision for all of them. I tried going into the Revision On Sheets Edit but it's all greyed out and doesn't let me edit there.

Was it the way I set up my template because I brought in the revision labels and then copied them down to fill in all the revision lines? If so then how should I edit them so they will read the different revisions.

Sorry, i'm a little confused as to where you are trying to edit.  You need to make edits to the Names and Dates of the revisions in the "Sheet Issues/Revisions" dialog that is under Manage>Additional Settings>Sheet Issues/Revisions

If you can't make edits there check to make sure the "Issued" check box isn't disabled.

If only one of the revisions is appearing on the sheet it could be that your clouds are all assigned to the same revision.  If you don't want to make clouds for every revision then you can turn on a revision in the properties of the Sheet View.  At the bottom of the properties click on the Edit button next to Revisions on Sheets.
