Stairs: Modelling tips

Hi all,

I have to model a complex stair (non in shape but in connections).

By your experience what is the best way to approach this issue, considering the fact that Revit does not allow such type of modifications.

My tip just model it as loadable family (e.g generic category). Revit stairs have improved during the different Revit versions. But what we see is that in general the final details of a stair to get them to code are complicated/impossible to do with the stairs tool. So what we often do is use the stair tool during initial phases when things change a lot. When getting to the detail phase we remove them and replace them with a loadable family, or have the stair manufacturer create them).

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Hi,

Thanks for the clear answear.

How do you cope with Railings e.g. when applied to Run host.

How do you cope with visualization. e.g. line styles.

If it is possible can you post here a family example?
