Staircase With Changing Run Width

Hello, I am trying to recreate a staircase in Revit but part of the staircase had a changing run width (see below).

I can't seem to find an easy way around this using the Revit stairs tool. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Create the stair by components normally then select the run and convert to sketch in order to change its boundary.

Just one error I am running into now is that my railings aren't looking very neat.

As you can see in the attached image the baluster's are doubling up in some areas and the top rail is going jagged instead of a single straight rail that goes into the baluster.

further to my most recently posted errors, I have also noticed that the balusters on the stairs are different. They are only displaying correctly when they are just railing components.

The same family is being use which is really confusing me as to how they can be different.
