Hi, does anyone know what is wrong with my stair railings? They can't seem to attach properly to my stringer, and the glass panels are messed up. It happens when I use railing families that I've downloaded? They don't align properly and don't look right at all.
Thanks for your time! ![]()
I'm thinking Landing Height Adjustment, but it looks like you have one already. Post the file.
when a profile is being used in the rail structure then yes you will not get the desired look but what you see in your image. The profile is a given height that runs perpendicular to the height offset given. You can get a better look at the top if the profile goes from the top down instead of the bottom up. There will still be the issue of the glass sweep not being the correct height but it would be embedded into the stringer portion. If you truely are looking for a paneled option this would have to be done with multiple railings, or other work arounds
Here is an image of what I was describing in the post above. As you can see in the second image the profile is set to a given distance to the top, it is the correct height at the stringers but short at the landing. If the profile properties is made to the desired height then the sweep may be below at the run of the stair, being embedded into the stringer. If panels are truely desired I personally use adaptive components for it as in the first image
HA! I was just thinking of you @BDMackey! ...and Daniel Dixon.

Actually Autodesk's new algorithm sent me an email saying this topic may interest me minutes after it was posted.
