Staircase changing size from group editor to loaded into model

Dear all,

I have made a staircase as part of a group, and in the group editor the dimensions of the step height have deen set, as well as I have locked elements in reference to each other.  The levels in the group editor are correct (from floor to floor height).

So I do not understand why when this same group is loaded into the main model that the height of the steo changes from 191.8 to 203.8.  It is not as though it is changeing to fit the level heights.  IT doesnt quite make sense to me, and I dont know how to keep it to the desired 191.8mm in the model.

Is someone able to assist with this?

Kind Regards,

Nina

Do you get any warning loading the Group into the model?

Is the Stair Family you are loading in an individual Style/Type?

As i can only suggest that a default Style/Type in the model may be overriding the group stair but i am certain you would get warnings.

If i load the same Grouped Stair into a model with 2 different levels is keeps the settings the same (Riser Height) but add in an offset.  So i can only think the Locking of Elements could be causing the issue?

Ah yes you are right, the error message saus that the Types already exist int he project and will be used...

So next question is then:

Is there a way I can override this and use the types that were in the group editor?

When I tried to change the type in the project (the cast-in-place stair specifically), I didnt manage to change the step height without getting more errors... as i find staircases not completely easy..

Any help would be appreciated,

Kind REgards,

NIna

Really you need to Renae the group ones as the default names are probably in lots of other models and templates.

you simply Select the Stair > Properties Palette > Edit Type Tab > rename or Duplicate and give it a new name
