STAIR SKETCH DOES NOT WORK!

Hi,

I've been given a Stair Case designed by an Architect in DWG format, and I tried using it as a sketch feature of Stairs in Revit, but I can't create Risers (and hence can't complete staircase). Tread width is 250mm, In Australia Riser height can't exceed 190mm.

Floor height difference is 3300mm (between levels).

I wondering what's wrong with is DWG drawing it won't allow me to create a staircase. I've attached a DWG file of just the staircase outline.

Any help would be much apricated.

Thanks.

I created a another staircase for comparison,

and using Revit Stair calculator, the 16th Step is approx. 194mm lower than the Floor level.

My apologies the Rise height will exceed 190mm in this case (I'll have to bring this up with Architect),

Risers must have equal heights. If necessary, add one tread.

Risers should not exceed a certain limit.

Hi Alfredo,

Great thanks!

I still has a little bit of difficulty creating the angled steps, I couldn't ahve then converging to a single point, I had to offset them slightly to complete riser count.

I broke the handrail into two separate rails also.

The images that you posted in your previous message don't display anything. About the sketch, look at the way I did it. Notice that the six treads at the U-turn of the stair don't converge to a single point either. You need a gap there to separate the two runs of the stair.

I saved them as jpeg's you should be able to see them now.

Ok. But based on what I can see from your image - several steps still converging to a point a lower run and again on a higher run, is that correct?

Yes, that would be fine. 3 treads converge to a point, then other 3 converge to another point. In the middle, there is a space in between the two runs.
