I am working in Revit 2022 with a linked model coming from another firm, live linked to ours through BIM 360. When I go to add the stair path annotation to any of the stairs in the linked model it gives it a heavy line weight. Object styles are set to 1 for stair path, and look correct on stairs within our model. I've checked all VG overrides and tested in a few different views with the same result. If I copy their stair into our model, it also shows the correct line weight.
The other odd thing is that the UP annotation also does not show up. When I drag it I can see it, but the second I drop it disappears again. Screenshots below of each.
There are some errors with their stairs, but I can't see why this would affect the stair path annotation in any way. Is this just a 2022 bug? Hoping someone else has run across a solution to this! in model stair

Did you actually set the Link to display Custom Overrides in the Parent View and then change the Stair Path line weights under the Link's Annotation Categories Tab?
@barthbradley Nope, no overrides to any of the link's annotations, as mentioned I checked all VG overrides (including links and filters). Even tried in a fresh working view with no VG overrides at all just to be sure, and the same result. Very strange behavior that I have not encountered in any other projects.
Are you saying that the Link is displayed By Host View in the Parent View? No overrides? If so, then that does sound strange. That Annotation shouldn't be showing at all.
@barthbradley I am placing the stair path annotation in our model, on a stair that is in the linked model, see description in OP. In every other way it looks correct (arrow and start symbol match, with exception of line weight). This is consistent behavior across several views, all with links displayed by the host view. Really bizarre.
I agree. That's really bizarre. It's not a "bug" though. There's another explanation.
Oddly the stair direction does actually print (even though it is not shown on screen) similar to the issue described here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Revit-St...
The only thing is that the link is not rotated, so still not a real explanation. And the line weight is still not following object styles, despite no overrides anywhere. But perhaps getting closer haha
Those look like non-continuous stairs using always up path type... Did you check the line weight used for the subcategories or the main category Stair path?...Can you post a snapshot of the relates section/category in Object Style and Visibility Graphics of the view?
What is the Link Display set to under RVT Links tab?

@RDAOU it is an automatic up/down, but the same issue occurs for fixed up.
For stair path obj styles all are set to 1, as well as all stair obj styles. See screenshots:
This issue is occurring in a view with zero visibility graphics overrides, so I know that it is not anything there. As mentioned above the link is not overridden in any way.
I tried replicating this issue in a test file, when I use our template the same issue occurs, but if I just create a file without a template and link this model and add the stair path it appears correctly. Again all views with no overrides. This would indicate to me that some other object style is controlling it, but I can't think of anything else that would control this.
The text issue that appears to be due to distance from origin to origin between the links might be reason enough for us to just take over the stairs (not to mention the poor modeling of the stairs that I'd want to fix). But I'd still like to know what is causing this for future reference.
The other thing to also remember is that this is only occurring on linked stairs. The second I add the stair path to the exact same stair in our model it appears correctly. So this is beyond a typical obj style/ visibility category issue. The tag should not appear differently just because it is associated with a link, which is not expected behavior, along with the text going missing.
I also tried changing the link type from overlay to attachment, but nothing changed.
