Staggered Tiles shown in floorplan and 3D Model view, but fails to render

Hello,

This problem is effectively driving me up the wall, I've spent hours trying to figure it out. Would really appreciate some help from the community.

The 3d model and floorplan view of my project shows tiles that have been staggered 1/2 way horizontally for both the wainscot tiles and the floor tiles in this area. But as soon as I render the tiles with materials, the final image has items that are stuck in a uniform pattern. Please see attached images for an idea of what I am talking about:

There might be a really simple solution to this but I can't figure it out.

Do you use the correct raster image or set the procedural tiling to staggering under the material appearance?

I'm kind of with @ToanDN; but before you swap out image for another, you might try adjusting the image scale (more width).

Hi ToanDN,

Thank you for your reply. The raster image I'm using is of one 12x24 porcelain tile that I want to be repeated. And I've set the scale up accordingly...

Where do you have the option to set the tiling to staggering in this area? I've attached an image.

Of course, that image can only give you non staggering layout. You need to find an image with stagerring tiles. Google it or go directly to some tile manufacturer sites.

Revit doesn't have an option to stagger the image one by one?

I thought that's what setting the model surface pattern allowed you to do.

This doesn't translate to the rendering portion at all?

Thanks!

I think the OP mean Running Bond Pattern, not staggered. If the image is actually a Running Bond Pattern, stretching its Sample Size Width (in Texture Editor) may help.  Certainly can't hurt to try. It'll take all of minute to change image proportions and Ray Trace.

Here's 2 screenshots illustrating the effect of simply changing the proportions of the exact same rendering image:

For the image you show, you can only change the proportion, for example: from long rectangle to shoet rectangle to square. But they will all be stacked bond, not running bond aka staggering. You need to find a stacked bond image and use it instead. You can also try procedural mapping instead of image mapping. I believe it has option for different tile layouts.

Revit has a stock Running Bond. Photoshop the JPG.

Same exact view and same exact material, except for the image scaling...RBT1.pngRBT2.png
