Hello,

Is there a way to create a wall tag for a stacked wall that takes information from multiple types inside a stacked wall?

For example if I have a stacked wall with 3 layers on the heights of 100mm then 900 mm and then 3000mm, and I need a tag that says that the 100mm wall is painted with X type of paint and with X fire rating, the 900mm has Y and 3000mm has Z.

I wouldn´t want to have them in Type mark or comments because I dont want to input them manually.

Thank you!

What you have described cannot be done....you will need dynamo otherwise use multiple tags each tagging one of the stacked layer

I'm scratching my head here trying to visualize what you are describing.  I'm seeing it as an Elevation View with a  Multi-Leader Material Tag, like the "<varies>" one show in this screenshot, except what you want is the Tag label to report the Materials of the 3 separately painted surfaces.   Do I have it right?

I don't even think Dynamo could do that.

Correct

but I don´t want the same Material Parameter as each wall has a different name for the parameters so technically the Label will be different for each type of wall. I think its somehow easier if we are not dealing with the same parameter for the label, right?

Not even if we are using shared parameters for the walls, and we have 3 different parameters with 3 different labels in a wall tag? But the question would be how to make it read from 3 different hosts or 1 host which is the Stacked wall

You will need the shared parameters but they will be then manually filled...therefore I SAID in my previous reply that you will have to use dynamo which will Read the info from the different hosts and set the values of the shared parameters

Revit at present does not do what you described automatically. so again Your options are:

  1. Custom Label and parameters filled using Dynamo (if you are happy to fill those shared parameters manually then you can do that too)
  2. Use multiple Tags (the multi leader does not combine the different materials from different elements of the stacked wall.)

Perhaps you could use a regular wall type with split region/assign layers (1mm finish ie.) for the paint and then have these fireratings in the material properties...

I decided to just do it with the split region in the wall type, like you all said its not really possible to get information from more than one host for a tag.

Thank you all 🙂 @Martijn.Pater @RDAOU @barthbradley
