hello everyone and thanks.
we have 3 files A B C
file A is linked as attachment into file B, and file B is linked into file C .
when we try to put spot elevation in file B based on the floor of the linked model A it wont show in file C.
any suggestions will be helpfull....
I am afraid you will have to do all of the annotations (except Spot Elevations) for the A object in the A model and then use "By Linked View" property in the B model to see it there.
Also, use "By Linked View" in C model to see B (and A in B).
In the B model, place Spot Elevations for the A model.
Maybe I don't have enough information, but I'd say that this is a bug.
thanks for the quick reply and the will to help...
ill try to explain myself better.
file A = typical floor
file B = the whole building composed by many typical floors like file A
file C = topography and the final documentation file for the authorities.
because file A repeat itself at different elevations in file B we couldn't put the elevations inside only in the building file B
it all looks fine in file B - it means that the building and all annotations are in place.
the problem starts when we links it into file C than all spot elevations disappear....
hope it can be solved....
and again thanks!
I am not sure that will work. It out of my power and knowledge.
You can do the following:
- annotate with spot elevation in the C model
- create typical floor (A) as a group in the model B (work without the third model)
- in B model add "something" onto A model floors and then tag that instead of A (e.g. make a group out of: A floor and model in place thin floor layer in model B) - i don't like this solution
I can display annotations from the A model in the C model. Fourth solution could be to create group in the A model and annotate there...
out of ideas..
