Splitting a wall into parts removes the wall sweep detail?

Hi, I have inset some wall sweeps in my wall section profile to show timber frame plates in my sections.  Which works fine, until I have to split a wall into parts- eg currently I'm splitting a brick veneer wall into parts so filters can apply the correct line styles to them automatically.  when I split the brick veneer wall into parts, the detail I have hosted in my wall plate sweeps, disappears.  Any thoughts?

P.S.  the sill cut detail is controlled by a visibility parameter in the window family, not the wall, so it works fine.

Thanks.

Yes it disappears because the detail item resides in the Original component not in the part. If you need the detail item visible, you need to

  1. Either set the view to show both (Parts and original)
  2. Insert a detail component to overlay the parts
  3. Instead of a adding the sweep a hosted profile in the wall, use a separate component/family instead (ie: same concept as the sill - when you convert wall to parts the other components and their nested detail items will  not be affected

Thanks @RDAOU, With option 3, do you mean load the detail item into a component family, then into the sweep profile?

I meant the sweep (including the detail component) needs to be a separate component/family

ie: something as follows

  1. Create a Profile ... set usage to Wall sweep (use the profile.rft NOT the Hosted Profile.rft)
  2. Nest into the Profile a Detail component
  3. Load the Profile into the project
  4. Use the tool Wall Sweep instead of integrating the sweep in the wall

Ahh I see. I was hoping I could get around having to do extra work, i.e place detail cut ends or place extra wall sweeps after the fact but it doesn't sound like I can. at least now I know and I can stop spending time on it. thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I found that if you don't have the sweep cut into the wall and just sit on the face, it does not conflict with the split wall.
