Split Face - Overlapping Finishes

Working on a healthcare project where we have varying colorways of the same rubber tile. I'm using the split face command to apply the different materials. There is an instance where 2 materials intersect. I'm trying to figure a work around so I can still use split face, and not have the split face lines intersect. Any ideas?

Can you point out which overlapping lines you are referring to?

Use the Linework tool and make the Split Face linework Invisible.
