Came up with this problem in Revit. Made a split face on a floor in my model. Later when modelling I discovered the split face to be outside the floor. As shown in the video. Recently having a lot of problems with Revit.

Anyone any idea what triggered this?

I would strongly advise against using the split face tool when possible. I have found it to be a problematic tool that creates more issues than it solves in our office.

While not an explanation for your current issue, my recommendation would be to model Finish Floors to represent floor finishes, as opposed to split face + paint tool. A finish floor is a physical floor modeled on top of your subfloor. We do not reflect the accurate material thickness in our finish floors, so they are modeled as 1/8" - 1/2" thick (depending on whose modeling the project) and offset the same amount.

These are efficient and the visibility is easily controlled with filters as we name all these floors with the "Finish" prefix.
