Split a foundation

Hello,

I have made a wall with a foundation and I have tried to split the foundation only (see screenshot), but I did not succeeded to do it (it split all the time the "Foundation + Wall").

How to split only the foundation ?

You will probably have to model your foundation as a slab or another wall type of usage 'foundation' because revit's philosophy to my knowledge is one wall foundation per wall.

Is there any reason you can't split the wall?  Why do you need to split the foundation?  If it is a footing step, we commonly split the wall and change the bottom offset of the wall.  If you need the footing size to change, I do not know of a clean way to do it other than to spilt the wall.

You asked me why I need to split a foundation.

In fact, I would like to do like in Autocad Architecture (see screenshot) : you have a stepped foundation in a sloping terrain, where the foundation is separated from the wall, and can be designed to have a foundation one on top of the other. And at the end, the walls are "joined" to the stepped foundation.

Does Revit LT or Revit are able to do that ?

Sometimes, why we need to do something sheds light on how to do it... 

I have no experience with AutoCAD Architecture or Revit LT, so I cannot answer honestly.  
We are an Engineering Service Provider and work with a lot of different architects, so every day is a new challenge.. er, ah, adventure.
Our structural modelers usually edit the wall profile (see left side example, highlighted) or split the wall (right side in example) depending on the circumstances of the project and how the arch modeled the wall.   If you need a footing step, editing the wall profile is often easiest.  If you need to footing to change size and get wider, splitting the wall and assigning a different footing types to each wall is the only way I know of that is reliable.
