Users in our firm have noticed that Spaces will sometimes disappear in all views except schedules. A schedule will catch and list all the spaces in the model, but in all other views the spaces are not able to be selected or tagged.
Any others experience this behavior? Is this a known issue?
A little background information:
Not sure why this post was moved to this forum as it's related to an issue experienced when using Collaboration for Revit as a method to host our models for internal collaboration.
Hi @Anonymous,
Are all the users experiencing this issue? Does this happen at a particular time such as after a sync?
If you could provide a screenshot/video and attach a journal file next time the behavior happens that would be helpful.

We have had this happen many, many times as well. We are also using C4R with BIM360. Don't have a clue why this hasn't been handled yet because we've been experiencing this issue for over 2 years now and we've provided ADSK multiple models with the remnants of the issue. In fact, it happened again just now...
I had it happen in a 2018 C4R model this last week twice. Dynamo scripts were not working because they could't find spaces in active view. I got mine to show back up by opening a section view slicing through the spaces missing. I then opened the space schedule and selected one of the missing spaces, picked highlight in model, couldn't find a good view so I canceled out of all the pop-up dialog boxes. Switched back to the section view and the space was selected in the properties window. I changed the limit offset to 50' it was at 24'. The space showed back up! I changed the limit offset to 24' and the space remained. Well today it happened again and I had all of the 100+ spaces missing. I didn't want to have to run through the steps above to retrieve my spaces. I just wrote a Dynamo script that would change the offset limit to 50' then back down to the previous value in all spaces in the model.
Dynamo Script Fix Missing Spaces
Hello Scott,
That's pretty cool, and I'm glad you found a solution, but I think we might be referring to separate issues. Whenever our spaces disappear, not only can we not find them anywhere... in any views... 3D, section or others, but any attempt to open a space schedule will completely freeze the model. In addition, dynamo scripts will identify the spaces (in that they do exist), but any attempt to print out their properties/parameters will result in a list of null values.... almost as if they and all their data had vanished. Not to detract from your solution... as that might also fix things for everyone else on this forum.
Sorry yes we are. That is one nasty bug. I keep hoping Revit 2019 will be better with all the bugs I've been running into with 2018.
2019 and we are still experiencing the same problem.....
Easiest way to fix is to schedule spaces with name limit offset.
Sorting/Grouping by Limit Offset and untick "Itemize every instance"
Change Limit Offset to above current, apply, then back to current and voila!
Another solution:
"This is what worked for me. Under the Analyze ribbon, click on the little down arrow by Spaces & Zones. Then open area and volume computations. I changed it from volume to areas only. Then all of my non-visible spaces showed up. Hope this works for you too."
