Space issue

Hello All,

I am working on a new project and I am experiencing a trouble to tag spaces / rooms from a linked arch. model.

As you can see on the attached screenshot most of the rooms get the incorrect tag "Elevator Lobby" and

even though I tried to do space / rooms separations, tags still show "elevator lobby".

Do you know how to correct this?

Thank you very much.

@lim.wendy  I will greatly appreciate your assistance 🙂

Are you creating/tagging Rooms in the Parent, or just tagging rooms in the Link?

I am tagging only in my model (parent), I don't want to change anything in the linked - Architectural model.

Can't you uncheck it?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

I'm not sure I understand the issue then. The Parent Tags are reading the Link Room Info.

….Are you able to TAB-Select the Link Room to pull up it's Properties?  What is the Room Name shown?

The link (A) may have an overlay nested link (B), which acts as Room boundaries. When you link (A) in but you don't have (B) then the Rooms in the link are missing their boundaries so all or most of the rooms just overlap each others.  It is a common issue.

Great suggestion man, I assume that is correct but I do have the nested Link B and still the issue persist - see the attached screen shot- many spaces / rooms obviously overlap even though I have links A and B which in this case is Lightning part of the project.

Your screenshot doesn't tell mush aside from it isn't working properly.

Did you manually link the nested link (B) in your project or did it come with (A) automatically? Anyhow, I suggest you open (A) and check if (B) is set as attachment, not overlay.

Link B comes with A automatically and it is set to attachment.

As for the screenshot - if you look carefully there are too many spaces there for some reason, does not matter where you click you will get tag " Elevator lobby"... so no it is not working.

The only room tags that I can get correct are those on the top  and on the right on the screenshot.

Looks like an awful lot of conflicting Reference Linework. Are you showing both Room and Spaces Visible in your Screenshot? What's the View Range Settings?

yes both - spaces and rooms and the strange thing is that when I open the arch ( Link A ) model there is an overall drawing and every room gets the correct tag - room name and number - everything seems fine there.

View Range - see attached

This is a hard one to troubleshoot through a back and forth.  I'm sure @ToanDN or @RobDraw  or I could troubleshoot quickly if we could interface directly with the files. Any chance you could just share them?

How many links does A have?  Are they all attachments?  Your screenshot shows overlapping rooms with different room location points, indicating the rooms are correctly located but not correctly bound.

I would share the files if it is up to me but unfortunately for me, company policy says that I can't share.

Link A is from our client it would not be appropriate..

never mind I will just make a text note for the rooms but that is not the first time I encounter with this and I just wanted to know what is the reason.
