Hi all,
I have a problem here. Using Revit Default Renderer, I am able to get everything rendered without any problems. Whilst trying out V-Ray, I found out that I am unable to render some structural elements like Columns, Beams or Truss, although some still show. Here's some images:

V-Ray Not Rendering Some Elements

what's odd to me, is that everything BEHIND those missing columns is rendering seamlessly -- as if the missing columns were never part of the scene.
yes exactly. I am using material-override so there is no way it's the material's problem... This is giving me so much headache now ![]()
Still trying to troubleshoot by doing some test renders. Realised that it is indeed some problem that lies with the Structural Elements of Revit! Seriously, no idea how to work around this though... ![]()
I experimented it further and found it it is indeed a problem with Steel Connection:
With a NORMAL Generic Connection
Witha SPECIFIC Connection
YES! I remember this issue now! Good detective work! Don't forget to mark this as the ACCEPTED SOLUTION. It'll help others.
Adding-on, V-ray will not render the structural element anymore even after deleting the Specific Connection OR the entire connection in general. Basically I have to delete the ENTIRE structure and redraw without any Specific Connection to get Vray to render again...
Which means we have to forsake either the Detail and get a Render OR get a Render and forsake the Detail... ![]()
It's weird because the Vray Ads clearly shows these specific details rendered nicely:
As u can see the connections between beam and column
But Im not too sure if that's a solution per se...
It's just the cause of it but I think let's wait awhile and see if anyone can offer a solution... ![]()
Good info to included as Accepted Solutions. That info is half the battle in troubleshooting. It helps in understanding and finding effective workarounds -- especially if no "clean" solution is available "out-of-the -box".
Thanks for sharing.
UPDATES:
I am not giving up, yet. Day-02 of detective work.
I found out that if I hide the columns and beams, and only render the Specific Connection part, IT RENDERS OUT the connection!
When ALL 3 or 2 are together, the one with the connection attached disappears! It has to be all rendered separately to get the component rendered.
Right now, the only work-around is to:
1) Check which part is Un-rendered in an overall rendering, then filter-select it, hide everything else, then render that part.
2) Bring 2 or more renders did to softwares like Photoshop, then manually join them together.
