Some newbie question about revit

Hi !

I can't find any easy drawing solution , hard to decide which is good and not overcomplicated

have some background with autocad but some things are overcomplicated in it , tables and style overrides , hatches and many more.

Maybe that answers will help me a bit to understand what revit can do or do easily unlike other solutions.

1) Doors , Can I display 2 states of doors on plan  ?  , like on that image 2019-11-30_ACA2019_DoubleDoorPanels.png

2) Can I make layered walls , 1 inside layer will be 400mm width , outside 100mm in width , but outside will be 200mm taller , in same time windows and openings , doors and curtainwalls should cut both layers like one body , in other words custom layered wall (with different layer height) which is treated like one body. is that possible in revit ?

3) Is revit good for landscape design ? Does it have good enough tools to draw ground isolines and good library to scatter vegetation (top view assets and also elevation assets)  those are good examples :

Thanks !

1.  As with most things, doors can display however you would lke them to display.  In that case, the door itself is modelled, but the family has lines drawn in 2D to show openings.  You can draw these lines where-ever you like.

2.  Wall can be split into two parts.  Go the Edit Structure section of the wall properties.  Press the Preview button (bottom left) and set the wall to show in section.  There are padlocks to unlock the layers.  You can only have two different height settings though.

3. Revit is used for landscape design.  The standard libraries may not have what you want, but you can find many families (items) on the internet.  You can also craete your own custom content to suit your style.

Thanks Tim , one more question before i accept it as solved , regarding doors.

After i created door with such layout like on image , can i open/close  BOTH panels?

becaouse if you are talking about completely custom doors with no automation , then i can create such doors even in corel draw

I'm not sure that I understand your question, but you can craete Visibility parameters to control which lines you would like to see or hide.  For example, a parameter called 'Open' would show the open lines.

I will explain my question more preciselly .

So , we have buit in objects in autocad archicad and revit, in our example it's doors , they can be opened and closed and you can control degree (how wide it is opened). so it's like a ready for use object with properties like color swing angle etc etc.

here is the question: will I be able to control custom 2 panel door like regular door ? open/close , width/height.

and will I be able to open and blose both panels , like first panel opened 35deg , second 90 degree on plan view

is that possible ?

Thanks Tim , Solved !

Typically with doors, you can control the height and width of the door.  Howerever, you can add what you would like.  It is possible to create a door family that opens a certain amount of degrees.  You can model two panels.  You can create angle parameters for both of these. You can have them different colours.   You can show one or both (or none) of these if you wish.  So yes, you can do what you require.

I'm sorry but I have to resurect that topic , especially regarding layered walls .

I tried today do layered wall, one interior layer I needed to be lower than exterior outside layer

First of all that small tiny padlock to unlock the wall layer in certain direction is like playing a quest game that hurts my eyes , that padlock is so small and uncomfortable, why is that ? maybe I'm doing something wrong , any chance to make it bigger and more interactive? it turns yellow sometimes, but sometimes not ... It's seems like you need to hit exactly that one magic pixel to unlock it . Disaster in other words.

Second , according to Revit official documentation, to lower the layer of wall I need to be in isometry mode to pull that arrow down , any chance to do it with numbers ? without going into 3d view ?
