Some hosted families from linked file not visible for one user

I'm having a curious issue this morning. Multifamily residential project - We have a Core+Shell model with the units linked in as separate models (instead of groups). One person on the team is having visibility issues with some hosted families from one of the linked files - toilets, casework, etc. (upper cabinets are fine....seems to be items near the floor). I pulled it up on my computer (same exact plan view - same view settings - worksets loaded + links visible, VG settings the same) and I can see everything just fine. I have checked that she has the most recent build, graphics card is up to date, I have tried turning hardware acceleration on and off, making a new local, restarting the computer, nothing is making a difference! It makes me think it's the computer and not something in Revit since everything appears as it should on my computer.

Revit 2014 (can't upgrade because of a consultant....le sigh) I have 32G RAM, she has 20....I can't imagine this is it. The file is 205Mb. We should be good!

Does anyone have any ideas about what it might be?! I'm stumped.

Some object not visible, in this case you need to check below

Visibility/Graphics is on for every element

View Range in Type project

Discipline is correct example-It should be Architecture

Hidden.png

Check with Reveal Hidden elements that everything is on in that view. If not then some of the elements which are not visible will be in red color which can be made visible by right click & select unhide type/categories.

I can not imagine that it is the hardware that is the problem.

If you say Items near the floor. View range settings seem quite obvious to check. Also things like crop view and section box. Fine, Medium, Coarse settings might have an influence as might phasing and design options. Do not forget filters. Also try updating (cleaning, purging, resaving) the problematic linked file and relink it.

As a test see if you can (temporarily) decrease the size of the project file (unlinking, removing items) to see if that has an impact.

But first of all if you create a new view (e.g. 3D view, section) on that computer are the objects visible then?

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Was there ever a resolution for this?  I have the same issue but not with links.

To be honest Mike I can't remember if there was a solution to this. Have you tried re-making the view to see if that solves it? The other thing I can think of would be a non-orthagonal crop region. Sometimes those do funny things to visibility within views.

TLDR: Check the Manage Links and Worksets to ensure desired items are loaded and visible.

We just had this issue (REVIT 2018.3), another user could see the model but the HVAC system wasn't showing. These were sheets I made the day prior so all the settings should have been the same. We looked in Worksets to ensure those were open and visible then Manage Links to see if those files were loaded. For some reason the linked file had been unloaded when he opened from the same central file I had synchronized to earlier in the day (we save localized files also).
