Some areas are missing when exporting to ifc

Hi everyone,

We are having difficulties exporting certain areas into IFC. Some areas are missing although they are visible from the export source (Revit). I found the link  https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles... claiming that it was solved in revit 2019 but its seems that we are having the same issue with Revit 2020.2

We tried:

  • workaround suggested by Autodesk (offset the problematic area boundaries so there was not overlapping area boundaries);
  • Make an export from the area plan itself floor plan and not 3D view;

We checked:

  • workset assignment;
  • area type;
  • Scopeboxes associated with 3D views;

Everything ended up with the same result. Specific area not being exported (see image below).

Are we missing something here?

Export options:

  • ifc 2x3 coordination view 2.0.

We are using:

  • Autodesk Revit 2020.2
  • Solibri Model Checker

Thank you in advance

Hi @Rafal.Gaweda,

As you notice by my very late reply I was away from this forum for a while. Meanwhile the project went further and it seems that the issue disappeared. As far as I know all the rooms were able to be exported into IFC, but unfortunately I don't know what triggered and solved the problem.

The addin that you have suggested is not installed in our machines so it wasn't related with it.

I will let you know in the future if this happens again so we can properly track and tackle it

Thank you

Perhaps it had to do with phasing ?

@indiana_j0nes we were modeling in the last phase (new). I am also assuming that no one was changing it since it is a new building with no existing elements.
