Hello everyone,
I am new user of both dynamo and Revit. I managed to create 3D model which is a U shaped building, I gave different parameters as inputs such as height, roof offset, mass rotation. What I need to do now, is to find the optimum configuration to maximise solar exposure. So, I need to do solar radiation analysis on my model while modifying object parameters.
If anyone can help with this ~I would really appreciate it.
Sonia
Many thanks for your answer.
I find it a bit difficult to use ladybug as I couldn't install and I would need the exact workflow to make it work.
I tried to use Insight in Revit by exporting my geometry to Revit but I had no more control on building parameters like in Dynamo. So I was able to use insight and Dynamo separately which doesn't help to be honest.
I would like to know how to make insight works with Dynamo model. It means that I would like to do simulation and control building parameters simultaneously.
Thanks
Hi!
May be I miss understand you, but if you have Dynamo script generating you some geometry the only thing to do is to adjust you script by adding some nodes which can analyse solar radiation of you current geometry in Dynamo. You can do this by using Honeybee for Dynamo. Sorry, last time I gave you wrong link for python library, this one is for Dynamo. You can also download it directly inside Dynamo from Package Manager.
After you will be able to measure solar analysis I suggest you to use Project Refinery to generate various design options with optimum solar exposure. Use solar exposure value as an output for Refinery, select Optimize method and Maximize option for your output.
For more information about Project Refinery refer to Refinery Primer.
