Snapping Doors at Jambs

I have my snaps set to 4’, 6”, 1” , and ¼” and would like to have my door jambs snap to 6” from the face of the nearest wall. The problem is, the temporary dimension is showing it from the farthest wall. How do I control this? Thank you!

@PhilvK   hello, you can go to manage > additional setting > temporary dimensions and adjust from there. thanks

Grip move the temporary dimension witness lines to where you want, then type in the value.

I usually add a ref plane to the door family and use that to align with the adjacent wall.

Thank you. I had already gone to the Temporary Settings area but did so again after your post. I previously had the Walls set to be measured from ‘Faces’ and Doors and Windows to ‘Openings’, but wasn’t getting what I wanted. I changed the Walls setting to ‘Faces of Core’, and now when I drag a door near a wall, it snaps to 6” away from the jamb. No need to go back in a adjust things. Thank you all again for your responses.

I changed my walls to Core Face, but not getting any results. What else did you do to accomplish this?
