I need to model sloped ceiling in irregular shape, how should I do it? Revit doesn't provide sub elements as for roof. so do I have to model it piece by piece - 3 sloped and 1 flat ?
You have to do at least 2. 1 Sloped and 1 Flat. The other option is 3 of them with the 3rd one for the notch with a different Cutoff Offset.
I created the sloped Roof with a Cutoff (either a Level or Cutoff Offset. Then you can build a Flat one.
To get the notch you have some choices
1. Create an in-place family with a rectangular void element. Within the In-place command make sure to CUT the geometry out of the Void from the Roof otherwise you will get an error that family does not have any solids or Void does not cut anything.
Let me know if this works for you?
...actually, you show this:
BTW: It's 2 ELEMENTS. 2 Ceilings. 2 Roofs. 2 Floors. Whatever. It's 2 separate elements to make the chamfer - unless you don't have Modify Sub-Elements. I think I remember that you don't have that tool. Am I remembering right?
