Hello all,
Simple question ... I was not using Revit for a period of time and have now gotten back to it. Have been using 2021 for eight months or so, but never installed 2022. Can I go directly to the 2023 version without installing 2022 or is that not considered a good practice from a technical point of view?
Thanks,
Robin
Should be okay. Archive original models prior to updating to the new version.
I presume this is more about upgrading models from previous versions. Sequential upgrading is recommended, but frankly we've never had an issue that I can recall. Upgrading legacy projects non-sequentially is pretty common for us.
Maybe in theory upgrading a project from one year to the next is recommended.... but I never go through all my old projects and upgrade them. If I need to open a 5 year old project, I never had a problem.
I know families are simpler. But many families I download somewhere are 8 year old versions and it usually isn't a problem.
Thank you all for the input. I, too, have upgraded projects from (10+?) years ago without the sequential process and have never had a major issue. Sometimes a minor warning, but nothing significant. I guess I was more worried about some sort of internal coding issue related to the Revit program files already on my computer, but it seems that's not a concern.
Thanks for the reassurances !!!
