Sketch is stretching with ref planes without any constraints

Hello,

I have an extruded element placed just between two non-reference planes without any constraints. But when I move one of those planes sketch begins stratching with them. I've tried to pin sketch, but it doesn't help.

Try checking the Disjoin checkbox when doing the move command?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Edit the Sketch and remove whatever is constraining it to those reference planes. But if that works, what's the point of the Ref Planes?  Do you even need them?

Something is constraining the element that is stretching when the RPs are moved.  Post the file here and we'll tell you what is and where it's at.

File in attached. Revit 21.

I can not delete those ref planes because they control a geometry in second type, which is deleted for this sample file.

It does not act that way here. You sure you posted the right family?

Reveal constraints and/or turn ON temporary dimensions and you will see why.

AH! I was able to replicate! Geometry seems to have a mind of it's own.  I have no clue what's going on.  It's fascinating though.

See screencast for how to fix it.  2022 file attached.

Thank you, @ToanDN

It looks like a solution, but I am not sure that understand what exactly I can delete, because temp dimensions are unable to delete. So I've tried to do the same with second vertical element, but hadn't success.

You can grab all automatic sketch dimensions, delete, and let Revit decide what to delete and what to keep.  The ones you can't delete are internal constraints (within the sketch lines), the one you can delete are external constraints (between sketch lines and outside elements such as a ref plane).  You need not be worried about deleting the wrong ones because constraints you intend to keep should be placed by permanent dimensions, not automatic sketch ones.

Can you try to do the same with this element?

There is a constraint, but I can not delete it, but it forces to move sketch with planes.

Drag the witness from the side ref plane to the center ref plane, or add a ref plane within the sketch editing mode to witness the dim.

the there will be no issue.

Thank you, @ToanDN

I am not sure that totally understand the logic of such behaviour, but in this particular case it works.
