Hello everyone,
I am using Revit 2020 site designer to layout roads and sidewalks around a house model in an urban layout. I have a house fully modelled and have created the topography for the surrounding area and a topo surface. I have then used Site designer to place a road 14m from the lot boundary and running parrallel to the house lot. This appears to be close to what I would expect. When, however I attempt to place a sidewalk 4m from the same boundary, parallel to the road and between the road and the house lot the resuting sidewalk alters the contours and creates topography that encroaches/intrudes into the house lot and fully covers the below ground courtyard at the rear of the house model.
What I was hoping I could achieve was a sidewalk that followed the terrain topo (as the road appears to have done) but what I get is a sidewalk that recreates the contours and topo to suite the sidewalk instead of the sidewalk following the gently sloping topo.
I am using a host line offset from the road host line and Relative Elevation from Toposurface set at -200mm as I want the sidewalk set in to the topo. The sidewalk family is Sidewalk T1-Metric and Sidewalk Type is 120cm 1pct slope. If I use 0cm elevation the sidewalk created is above the topo surface for some reason.
Can anyone please advise what I am doing wrong with my settings or process?
