Sinusoidal Cladding Error

We are wanting to clad our building with a Sinusoidal shaped cladding.  To do this we have created a CW system made from bespoke Sinusoidal cladding profile.

When we create the CW it works perfectly, until however we attempt to edit the profile.

Please see attached screenshots regarding warnings and process required to finish the edit.

Editing the profile creates a warning, warning dialogue forces us to 'Delete Type' which then forces us to 'Replace Panels' which then embeds a glazed system panel within the CW which in-turn creates a warning 'some panels in this CW are slightly malformed......'

I am assuming we are tackling this CW facade in the wrong way given that it creates a warning for each embedded panel of which we have over 500 in our model.

Screenshots and example model file attached for guidance (Revit 2018).

Any advice would be great!

Why don't you just set your Curtain Panel to "None"?

Hi, did this get solved? I'd be interested to know how you managed to sort it if so!

Custom curtain wall panel families work only in curtain walls that are rectangular. For diagonals and left overs, you need to use something else, such as: Edit Panel in Place.

If you just need a sloped top to the profile, try using a reference plane and then attach the top of the CW to the angled reference plane.

I look at the panel and it is using the Empty panel which won't respect the angle. I replaced it with Empty Panel System and it works like a charm. See attached.

Hi @johnoseiasiamah,

Thank you for reaching out to the forum. It looks like @syman2000 ‌ provided the cause and solution to the problem you posted, so for now, I am going to mark this as "Solved". This won't prevent other folks from commenting on this post though in the event other ideas come up!

Let us know how things are going!
