The type of projects I am now working on are very services intensive, and ensuring pedestrians routes for access, maintenance and fire escape is something I'm wondering how to do.
Current practice where I work has been in the Architecture model to use the Ductwork family, this being able to be used to create a 3D object with a width and height, that can then in the workflow, show up in a Navis model, be used for clash detection, and so on.
While a practical solution, it seems like a work around to me, and has the problem that if I use a Hidden view, for clarity of my plan or section, I could be obscuring something I want to actually see, whether floor finishes, steps, plant that might be in the wrong place (!) and so on.
So I have to ask, how does anyone else do something like this, when 2D isn't enough but 3D might be a sledgehammer to this nut?
