I am using Revit LT
I inserted a CAD survey plan at ground level that is visible in all views (which is also good for 3d views etc)
when I go to the upper floors I can only see this cad plan if I set the view range to unlimited.
However I only want to see each floor and not the floor below, but i do want to see the CAD plan as a background in
all levels.
I dont want to copy the cad plan to other levels as then I need to hide it in all sections, 3ds etc.
is there an easy way to achieve this?

Maybe you can try this:
Method 1:
1. Link the CAD file into your project (uncheck Current View Only), which you have already done.
2. In one of the plan view, Link the same CAD file with Current View Only checked, then align it with the previous one.
3. Copy the second linked CAD file, paste it into the other plan views in the same place.
4. Hide the first CAD file in all the plan views.
Maybe it is not a good idea... with those multiple copies of linked CAD files...
Let's try method 2:
I guess you are not seeing the CAD file on the upper floor plan because it is not cut.
Maybe you can open this CAD file in Autocad and draw a vertical line tall enough to be cut in those plan view.
hmmm I was thinking just copy and paste to level (select multiple holding shift), then just set to hidden in your visibility graphics for those views...
your view range for the "Upper Level" is not showing you anything in that range. so if your upper level is above the ground (likely) and the Bottom setting of your view range is set to the associated (upper) level, you wont see anything below it. you can set your View Depth to Unlimited, but that may have undesired results in your building.

Yes Method 2 is great, I drew a vertical line in autocad and its now showing in all floorplans without
having to set view range to unlimited!
Many thanks!
Method 3: because it happened with me, my issue was Cad drawing because it was in 3D by mistake, so i had to delete all the drawings in 3D and and made sure that all the drawing was in 2D because if there is a line o something in our cad it will affected the levels in our drawings in revit (3D). So the problem was solved by my side
