-Try adjusting/lowering the cut plane in the ceiling plan's View Range. The switches are likely below the default cut plane, and the ceiling plan is set to look up, not down.

-Also, there is usually a Generic Annotation family "nested" into the actual light switch 3D Family.

Make sure Generic Annotations are turned on in the Ceiling Plan / View template, etc.

This is not a great solution since you would need to lower your cut plane to below the height of switches, typically 48". Typically you would want to set your cut plane higher above or close to the head height so items in your plan don't so up in the RCP. Is there a way to have the simple show even if it is below the cut plane?

You can use plan regions to change the cut height for only certain areas. Or you can add a vertical model line to your light switch families so the cut plane cuts through that and allows the annotation to show.

Thanks. I just found that solution. A bit of a hack, but whatever works.
