ZE is the shortcut for zoom extent.

The elements are too far away from the Internal Origin of the Project.  Turn on the Internal Origin in the 3D View, Zoom Extent plus a little more, do a crossing-window selection of the entire view.  This should pick up everything. Press the Filter button on the Contextual Tab to see what they are.  Those elements that are way far away from the Internal Origin need to be moved closer to the IO.  You can use Filter to select only those elements and then press Move to move those elements closer to the IO.   It might take several Moves to get those elements to the right location. Just depends on how far away they are.

Check for OFf and frozen layers in AutoCAD see if any elements in those layers are far off origin.
