Sheet Set from Filtered Sheet List Schedule

Is it possible to create a sheet set from a filtered sheet list?

I created a shared parameter (sheet size e.g. A0 Landscape) which I use in a label in a title block family. I then share the same parameter in as an instance parameter attached to project information. I then filter my sheet list by page size. Is it now possible to create a sheet list from the filtered sheet list schedule?

Is there another workaround?

Hi

Use Sheet Browser Organization to sort sheet using new parameter..

sheet group by new parameters.JPG

this is for the browser.. also in schedule you can filter / sort using the new parameter ..

Not out of the box. You need to tick boxes for all the sheets you want and save as a Sheet List.

There are some paid addins that may do it but their names escape my memory.

Hi ToanDN,

Thank you for the confirmation.

I will post this on the Idea Station as I think Filtered Sheet List Schedules are a good gateway to create multi-page PDF documents to share on BIM 360 Docs. There may be hundreds (if not a few thousand) sheets that need to be published per project. This will take a lot of time to do manually.

In the meantime I will resort to Dynamo and Python if needs be.

Kind Regards,

Hi Ganesh,

Thank for the advice. I am doing exactly this, but then I would also like to create a sheet set to publish to BIM 360 Docs from the schedule (as opposed to doing this manually). ToanDN indicated that this is not possible Out-Of-The-Box (OOTB), so I suppose short of buying an app I would need to program this in Dynamo and/or Python. I will post this to the Idea Station.

Kind Regards,

Hi

When you Print the Sheets from Revit, You can select particular number of sheets

and save that selection as some identifiable name..

Example :

A1 Sheets

A2 Sheets

Revisions A

Revisions B

and that selection can be used for many other purpose..

Example

Exporting that Set of Sheets in CAD

Exporting PDF / Printing PDF

giving one example , I have selected just one sheet, and saved it as " Set 1" and its available

later for printing, exporting etc.. and you can keep editing that set , adding or removing sheets..

Thats also possible for Views.. but sheets are more useful..

Saving a selection of sheets as SetsSaving a selection of sheets as SetsUse saved set for export or printing etcUse saved set for export or printing etc

Hi Ganesh,

Yes, that is correct. As you can see from the last of the following pictures, I am able to create sheet sets, just not per the filtered Sheet Schedule. I would need to know which sheet used which page size, otherwise I would manually have to cross check against the Sheet Schedule, which introduces the possibility of human error.

Kind Regards,

In my opinion, the answer is similar to many other questions: you should install a print plugin (Xrev, DiRoots) because Autodesk is not interested in helping you print large projects.  Interestingly, such tools have been in other software (ex. Autocad) for 15 years. Bim360 is not a basic service and such a simple function as pdf-export (with different sizes and names) should be available in basic software (without plugins and Dynamo).
