I have recently noticed something strange and have spent some time figuring out why. I have found an answer for my case, but I am wondering is there something else I have missed.
Our sections reference the sheet with the floor plan on it. This is how it is meant to work and never noticed it before (that is not to say it didn't happen). Our Sections have different types: Wall, Building, Working, Millwork, etc.
Filters are applied to VTs to hide the section lines that don't need to be visible on that view. All good so far.
We have working views where each team member can play around with VG and not affect the main views. So these working views tend to have everything turned on and do not always have a specific VT applied. I then created a new Sheet and placed one of these Working Views on the sheet and then the references changed to this sheet number. I tried this multiple times with multiple plan view types with different VTs applied. The conclusion is to not place these working views on sheets.
I informed my team to never place working views on sheets, but is there some built in hierarchy of how sections are referenced. Does it take the most recent sheet that the section line is visible on? Basically, once we add a floor plan view to a sheet, it takes on that reference (which is correct), but once we add a floor plan with that section line visible to a new sheet, it takes on the new sheet number?
I hope this makes sense.
