Hello,

 

I am trying to create parameters for a ceiling hosted panel.  Let's say this panel is 5' x 5'.  There are 4 connections points from the panel to the ceiling.  I would like to add parameters that let me adjust the family once it is loaded into a project that allows each of the 4 connections points to have either the same or different dimensions.  If you see attached sketch.  I would like the ability to control the different lengths of A,B,C, and D.  Any information would be extremely helpful.

Are you saying you want the four connection points to move independently of each other? If so, the first method which comes to mind is to think of their placements as if they were on a grid. I would consequently make eight length parameters, each of which has dimensions assigned to them. These dimensions would be connected on one end to the  nearest reference plane on the outside of the panel, and on the other end to the center of the hanger object--if you use a circular item, be sure to toggle on "Center Mark Visible" in the Properties palette. The end result would look similar to the image below (in the image I have kept the Sketch Mode active to show how the parameters' dimensions are constrained in one such hanger).

Hello.  I appreciate the quick response.  I should have been more clear.  If you look at the sketch I uploaded and refer to the Axon.  There are 4 attachment points which are set and do not move.  However the lines going in the Z direction would be attachments to the ceiling above.  Those dimensions I would like to be independent.  See attached image.  This is an example of a ceiling panel.  I would like to adjust the lengths of the indicated A B C D as its own.  So in theory I could load in this ceiling panel and adjust the angle or slope as desired.

Sounds like we talking about dynamically adjustable HANGERS? A totally separate thing from the suspended ceiling grids or clouds they are supporting. Am I right?
