Shared parameters confict

Hello all,

I had some shared parameters that I deleted. I try to add again the shared parameters from an other .txt file and I get the error 'The shared parameter '....' cannot be added with the same name '...' and type '...' because conflicts with the existing name.. and type.

How is it possible to confict with a parameters that doesn't exist anymore in the project ?

What I should do ?

Thank you in advance!

Perhaps the parameters were left in the loaded families, and the guid in the parameters does not match the new txt file.

When you add a shared parameter from another txt file than it means it will have a different identifier (GUID). So the name might be the same but GUID is different giving possible issues.
It might be that there are still elements in the project with that older parameter.
Another possibility might be that that parameter is present in the background. In databases (Revit is basically a database), when you delete information it is not always (immediately) removed from the database but just hidden from the user. it also might be that Revit keeps certain information in the background for project integrity.

What you can try to do is do a SaveAs for your project and then under Options select "Compact File"
